Nanomaterials are chemical substances or materials with particle sizes between 1 to 100 nanometres in at least one dimension.
Nanomaterials are extremely small dimensions engineered particles. They take advantage of their physical and chemical properties at the nanoscale. The physical and chemical properties of nanomaterials differ from those of their larger-scale particles: for example, evidence indicates that nanomaterials can pass through skin and blood–brain barriers.
Today we are dealing with self cleaning, hydrophobic, oleophobic, conductive, nanomaterials, in the foreseeable future we will see a wider range of characterization that will have a positive impacts on health, sustainability, engineering.
